- Experiment Constantly - because half of Facebook's users log in every day, you need to create multiple ads to grab their attention. Rotate the images, title, and body of your ad but also rotate the landing page you use if possible. It is generally not a good idea to use your logo unless you have a widely recognized brand.
- Track Performance - Facebook gives you a tremendous amount of feedback through your advertising reports. Use a unique tracking link for each ad and then pull your reports minimally on a weekly basis to track ad performance
- Leverage Targeting - one of the most valuable aspects of Facebook Ads is the rich targeting options available. Think about the types of users you are trying to attract. What are their interests? What is your target demographic? If you target those that like "crossword puzzles", then try to reference that in your ad. Also, check out the Friends of Connections targeting if you are promoting a Page, Event, or Application.
- Use Promotion Codes - promo codes have long been known to increase CTRs in online advertising. If you do not have an easy way to employ a promo code, at least make a strong call to action in the ad. Asking questions in the ad is also an effective way to engage the user.
- Practice Less is More - some of the best performing ads have the simplest text and few words. Resist the desire to use every character available in the body text of the ad.
